Two Aussie guys have decided to set themselves the challenge of landing at 26 airports starting with each letter of the alphabet. I reckon this is a pretty cool idea so I’ve decided to also take up this challenge. Rather than waiting around until I have my own aircraft to start this challenge, I figured I’d make it a long-term challenge and attempt to slowly fill it in as I fly around.
So, I’m setting a few rules for my challenge. Firstly, I’m not going to count my base airport among the airports – I’m going to count airports that I land at. Otherwise I could simply arrange to end up taking a lesson/hire flight at 26 different airports, which would probably take some of the challenge out of it. To prove that I’ve gone to each airport, I’m going to do my best to take a photo of the sign at the airport showing the name (preferably with me in front of it, but that depends on whether anybody’s with me and whether or not I get better at taking those self photos).
This page will track my progress. As I fill in each letter, I’ll put the name (and code) of the airport I went to, and create a link to a new page with the photo and describing the flight.
I’ve no idea whether I’ll succeed at this challenge at all, and it’s definitely a very long-term challenge, but it should be a fun adventure!
