About

Hi, I’m Darky.

I am an Australian Arts/Law student who is following her lifelong dream of flight. I’m a pilot (obviously), a geek, a metalhead, a bit alternative, probably too sarcastic for my own good, rather immature at times and just trying to enjoy life the best I can.

Last year (2009) I found myself with healthy savings and fairly few outgoings, and decided it was a perfect opportunity to reverse that situation by spending all of my savings very quickly and learn to fly.

This blog will be a record of my adventure through the world of aviation. I hope that if others stumble upon my blog it will be both interesting and informative. For me, it is a way of documenting my lessons and my feelings, and recording my memories of flight training. However, it is NOT a learn to fly guide, if you want to learn to fly, please seek qualified instruction.

If you want to contact me, leave a comment or email me at anfa@hotmail.com.au.

This blog will document the highs and lows of my flight training, and some of the stupid things that I have done and (doubtless) will do.

This is, I hope, the beginning of a lifelong adventure.

Gday Darky. I am most impressed with your Technical abilities. The Blog is well thought out. Maybe one day I will find the time to develop my own computer skills. Good luck up there in the big blue.

    Hello Darky,

I have just finished reading all your blog posts, and have enjoyed reading about you aviation adventures. I’m lucky enough to live in the rural city of Wangaratta located in Victoria, where a small aerodrome is our “Airport”. The local “Wang Aero Club” has flight lessons. I’m very excited for this Christmas as I’m Getting A T.I.F And Some Flight Lessons. I’m 14 and cant wait until I finally get my license and the endorsements necessary to take my friends flying(a fare while haha). I’m hoping to set up a website with a blog and a few other things so people can follow my journey getting my pilots license as like yours. Just need to raise a little money or get donations form people with Paypal or something. as I don’t have Paypal. Anyway I liked your blog. and can’t wait to read your future posts.

    -Jack.

Hey Jack, thanks for the lovely comment, I’m glad my blog is actually interesting! You’re lucky to be able to start at 14, I’m only 22 and I keep wishing I’d started earlier 🙂

Also, if you’re talking about the PayPal to pay for the site, you don’t need to do that. I get this site free through WordPress.com and there’s lots of other free blogging sites out there that are worth a look
